Cayton is a village and civil parish in the Scarborough borough of North Yorkshire, England, 4 miles (6 km) south of Scarborough. Cayton is mentioned in the Domesday book as "Caitune". In , Cayton won a Silver-gilt, streets, and hills the anti-invasion landscapes of England, (Council for British Archaeology. After studying History at university he taught the subject at Scarborough Sixth Form College for 30 years. In his retirement he has completed a book on Scarborough during World War II and is looking for a publisher. He is involved in the running of the Scarborough Archaeological and Historical Society and the Scarborough Maritime Heritage Centre.
